PHN What’s New Tuesdays | New Album Release: J. Cole ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive’

J. Cole release the third studio album ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive’ on Today, December 9, 2014 under Dreamville, Roc Nation and Columbia Records. The album was mainly produced by Cole with two supported singles, “Apparently” and G.O.M.D”.

The title of his album is the address of J. Cole’s childhood home where he grew up with his mom, brother, and stepfather. Soon, after Cole graduating from high school, the home was foreclosed while Cole attended St. Johns University in New York City. And in 2014, Cole re-brought the house, making it his first home purchase.

Most of the production of the album came from J. Cole and guest producers including Elite, who contribute on Cole’s previous projects, such as ‘The Warm Up,’ ‘Friday Night Lights’, and ‘Born Sinner,’ plus Dreamville’s in-house producer, Ron Gilmore, Tray Samuels, DJ Dahi, Illmind, Cardiak, CritCal, Vinylz, Organized Noize, and Jproof. And many more.
